Hi, I’m Cody.

I’m endlessly curious about how people, organizations, and ideas improve.

Professionally, I work in higher education, where I help students succeed, use data to support better decisions, and work with talented people to solve meaningful problems.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, traveling, exploring new technology, and working on projects around the house and yard.

On Deck is where I think out loud. Some essays begin with data. Others begin with a conversation, a problem at work, a lesson from a baseball field, or something I noticed while trying to improve an ordinary process.

I do not claim to have all the answers. My aim is to ask useful questions, share practical ideas, and leave readers with something worth considering.
